like the boy named Sue theory, we felt that a real feminine name would cause him to have to fight to defend himself and he will be a tougher person for it in the end. Good decision?

You named your son that knowing he may get teased? Its ok to be tough and defend yourself but Im sorry to say it sounds like you dont care if he gets picked on.What if he gets beat up daily. Why not name him a name he would be proud of or a name that suited him instead of a name he will get picked on? Is this your first child? If you have another I hope you use better judgement and name that one other than a name you know will get picked on.Bad move.Im sorry

Some how I really don't think that that way the best way to help him form his sense of self in a positive way. The poor thing is going to get picked on. He'll need a nickname or a escape name. Just something else he can be called, after the teacher calls his name the first day of class. I hope he does become a very strong minded person!

LOL
This has GOT to be a joke. It's such a bad move that it should be written up in the Guinness Book of World Records for Horrible Baby Names. If you're actually serious, change the child's name NOW!

I hope it's not too late to change your son's name. What are you trying to do? You don't use a child as a social EXPERIMENT. Let alone your own! Give him a nice manly name, he will get picked on, and 'toughen up' just fine. By the way, it's YOUR job to teach him how to make it in the world, and not by the tauntings of other kids his age. Really, didn't you know that?

I think that was a bad move. He probably would be teased too much. And I heard that some people change genders cause of that. So I suggest changing his name cause It's better to let him get teased and fight naturally instead of forcing it. He might even hate you in the future cause you gave him a girl name.

well....its a little late to be asking this question don't you think???? thats just mean, poor child, i would change his name asap, hes a boy, you dont name a boy felicity so he gets messed with???? theres plenty of other ways to toughen up a child i'm sure, rather than embarrassing the crap out of him so he has a low self esteem, good luck testing your child on a theory

No. That is the stupidest thing ever! He will get teased and then end up committing suicide! Did you ever think about that, Mr. I-named-my-son-Felicity-Prudence?

I totally agree with Lorraine. I'm hoping that this is a joke. Life is hard enough and how much harder is it going to be on your boy when his parents are using him for a social experiment?

not such a good move, really. Its one thing to give your boy a name that could be either a girl or a boy, but give him a first & middle name of a girl........he is gonna grow up hating you for it.
