Is there anything out there (PC card?) that can turn it into a wireless and pick up wireless signals?

Yes...you can get either a Linksys OR Netgear PC Card "Wireless Nic" at any Staples, Bestbuy, CompUSA. It will have 802.11 b/g capability just like the mini-PCI cards that are built into new laptops.

I use a Linksys USB network adapter. It cost about $30 and has worked fine for two years.
