This happens to almost every rookie receiver. Rookie receivers need time to develop. Most cannot be thrown into the offense right away and become a star. There are some exceptions such as Colston, but they are mostly the same. He will be a great WR in a few years, but now just give him time to get up to speed in the NFL.

Well, first he's in an offense that is more run-happy than pass-happy and if they do throw, they have Hines Ward and Heath Miller to target before him.

Second, he was behind Cedrick Wilson and Nate Washington on the depth chart as I believe his offseason problems bumped him down.

Third, he's a ROOKIE. It usually takes about 3 seasons for rookie WRs to get accustomed to the speed of the NFL game. The CBs are better, the QBs throw harder and faster and the game in itself is essentially quicker than the college game.

Agreed with the rest that he's on a team that doesn't throw the ball downfield, but then again with big ben there...they can't. Give him time. Very few rookies come out and light it up their first year. He's got all the characteristics of a solid WR and punt returner, he just needs to get his head in the game...and understand the pace of it.

In college he was a superstar and people worshipped the ground he walked on. Now he's in the pro's wher everyone is at least as good or better them him. He has the Talent, I think his mental game is way short right now -- HE will be there :)
