Lol the ones with lots are either sex questions or things that everybody knows and has an answer to - like whats your favourite this or that.

The ones that just poll people are going to get a lot of answers because anyone can answer them quickly and get 2 points. Politics and Religion questions are similar, everyone has and likes to share an opinion. The ones that require some actual knowledge of something are only going to be answered (well, hopefully) by people with the knowledge. And the ones that ask people to write a 10 page research paper because someone thinks we will do their homework for 10 points will not receive any answers.

some questions that get no answers are jokes, nonsense, and pranks. others get a few answers because a few people have knowledge of subject matter. the ones that get lots of answers are those where lots of people have knowledge or an opinion on the subject.

Some questions are easy to read, and are easy to answer. Some questions are funny. I would think that the easy to read, easy to answer, funny, etc., get many responses.
If I can't read (and make sense of) the first line of a question, I don't bother trying to read the rest, and I move on to the next question. :)

It's all in the title usually. They might put !!!!!!!!!!!! at the end or "It's so big and it's stuck inside!" to get people to click and since they are already there might as well answer it.

the complicity of the question or just no interest or it may be driven down deep in a question section harder to get to.
