My mother always said that the reason she wanted children was because God gave her the gift of childbirth and she should use it. That could be applied to lots of different sets of beliefs if your wife doesn't believe in God. A lot of it is also instinct and the way women are raised. That's the norm. Grow up, get married, have children. It's a little sad, but that's often what women learn to want.

I guess the reason I want to have children when I get older is because I don't want to be alone. I want a family. My parents aren't going to be around. Also, it's a new kind of experience, a different level of knowing someone. It also must be amazing to watch something that came out of you grow into a real, living and breathing being with a personality.

Hello,

Here are some good reasons for having a precious vulnerable baby:

1. It won't be about YOU and YOUR WIFE anymore

2. You will learn to LOVE and CARE for another human being.

3. You will increase the size of your family.

4. You will make both your parents proud grandparents.

5. You might have to change some of your ways to teach your baby the right and noble way to do things in life.

6. You can smell your babies breathe, touch her skin, hold her in your arms and tell her you love her, you will cry with joy that you and your wife pro created this perfect, little human being and she is all yours to raise in this vast world, you will get so much joy when she learns to roll over, sit up, crawl, walk and begin to talk. You will be beeming from ear to ear and praising God for this sweet little miracle.

Hope this helps you...................... : - O

Because you have too many nice and unbroken things, you hate that your home is not filled with ear-piercing screams of a a child who just wants to yell for yelling's sake, your carpets are too clean, your hate not having vomit and feces and urine on your clothing, you love the idea of being awakened every two hours in the middle of the night for the first six months to two years, and you are ready to find out that love is truly conditional -- especially in the grocery store. Oh, and when your kid realizes punching Daddy in the crotch gets a funny reaction, so they do it over and over and over again. For years, because that funny never seems to go away.

That said, if you want a family, then have a child. I would recommend against anyone having "a baby" because they only stay that way for eighteen months before you've got a human being on your hands whose personality may or may not mesh with your own.

I'm sorry it's not a love and cuddles answer, but your question tells me clearly you really don't want kids. That said, I admire your choice and be the best uncle out there . . . while enjoying the fact the kids go to other homes at the end of the night.

If you see no benefits to having a child other than the fact that babies have soft skin you probably know absolutley nothing about children and well shouldn't have them. Children fill a void in your life like no other human being can. They love you no matter what and expect the same in return. No matter what my hair looks like, how much weight i gain or what kind of mood Im in I know my children love me. The looks on their precious little faces on christmas morning and kissing them to sleep at night. The way they love to decorate the windows and playing baseball with them in the back yard. Sure its not all cake work, but I find parenting very rewarding. If you are selfish, parenting isn't for you. If you are vain....parenting isnt for you. It takes a level of selflessness to give yourself completely to another human being and just expect nothing in return. A baby will cry, and pee itself, and poo itself. But then one day it will smile at you and grab your finger with its tiny hand and giggle. And then, they will grow up, and learn to do to the bathroom all by themselves, and bathe all by themselves, but then you m ust teach them, lead them into the world and allow them the knowledge to succeed in life.

Without knowing your wife I would say instinct. Preservation of the species is rooted very strongly in most people, women to a greater degree I've found.

You'll understand once you come walking in the room and your little one gives you some goofy, I'm so happy you are you and you are my parent, arms wide open, toothless grin.

I had three. I am hard pressed all these years later to think of any benefits. It is a lifetime investment with no return.
