Why is it that so much disdain has been placed upon the legacy of National Socialism and Adolf Hitler when most cultures that harbor that disdain hold such an appreciation to its roots and product?
Hitler was not the first leader of a people to attempt annihiliation upon his enemy. Consider most wars and empires throughout history (including Roman, Holy Roman, Soviet. etc.)
And as most of Europe and America has adopted many new methodes, machines, and tactics created and perfected by the Nazis, why should they belittle the source of their adaptions when they are enjoying the product and result of them?
Hitler's agenda included the annihilation of his enemy. Why should that be held in low regards when so many other cultures in history -that are praised and admired- did exactly the same? (Except that due to the lesser population of the earth in those times, such slaughters are not regarded with horror in comparison with the number figure of 6 million.)

Hitler killed Jews for being Jews. The Romans killed Christians for being Christians (under Nero). The Catholics killed Protestants for being Protestant. The Protestants burned witches for being witches (and even some who were not witches). Muslims have killed Christians for being Christians. Christians have killed Muslims for being Muslims (The Crusades). And the list goes on and on for ages to tell...
An anscestor of mine was imprisoned for aiding a two Jewish families in Stuttgart whilst another was a high-ranking officer of the Wehrmacht. I understand both the opposing and supporting opinions for the actions of the Nazis (most actions being base for political reasons as most Germans did not even know the Genocide of the Jewish race was being attempted).
The act of killing others is a common occurrence within the human race. But why should the killing of one be held of lesser importance than the killing of 6 million? Is not the murder of just one any more tragic? Anyway, I am sure that most would differ - simply because it seems easier to channel all their disgust at just one figure rather than to admit their own likenesses and admiration to accomplishments of others just as guilty for the same "crimes against humanity."

Well, apart from being responsible for genocide you cannot possibly admire a man for passing an instant 'death' sentence on some 43,000 prisoners in retaliation for the Sobibor break-out. You need to look closer at what you yourself stated, you don't support what Hitler did to the Jews, so how can you admire him? If you know that hundreds of thousands of men, women and children were shot dead to be dropped in open graves around Europe and whole families were sent into a gas chamber you would have to stop thinking of Hitler to be admired. Hitler had a lot of power, this is correct, but ask yourself by what means? Let us set an example, you are not a Jew, but you are a political opponent of the Nazi Party. Obviously, you need to be re-educated, so what we will do is send over the Police to arrest you and take you into a make-shift police station to beat you to a pulp. (Brown shirts for a while had Police Power) You survive the ordeal but you can never work again, so now, the family will starve because the man of the house cannot work. So people will argue, well, there was no work anyway, correct. But the catch is, people survived on donations and help organisations plus the fact that you may have received a small income from welfare, not much but enough to buy the staple - kilo of bread and some extra's. Because you did not understand the ideology of Nazi thought and practices, we will now cut-off your welfare, after all, if you oppose the Nazis it is assumed you won't need the welfare either, or would you? Now you know how Hitler became powerful.

I actually admire Adolf Hitler.
There's many people who hate Hitler because he killed 6 million Jews etc etc. Hitler wasn't evil, people who taught to think this idea is because of the anti-Nazi propaganda and the whole "Holocaust" campaign surrounding him and you know, history is written by the victors.
Hitler saved Germany, he made it world power, he banned all animal hunting, etc.
He was an amazing gifted public speaker, he got millions to employment and looked out for his people.
Funny how nobody mention Stalin's genocide. Yes Hitler made mistakes so does everyone. Everyone these days just listens to the myths and rumors about him. If you do your own research you'll find a total different man.

Because Hitler was crazy and blamed Jewish(also others) people for German people's woes. Sure every civilization has its crazies but Hitler was just a crazy crazy. He idea of the perfect race. Blue eyed and Blonde. Pufh! He wanted everyone annihilated because of what they looked like or what sterotype was placed on them. His enemies were not normal enemies. Have you ever been to the Holocaust museum in Washington D.C.? The stories, the pain. Its more hurtful because these weren't rival nations or something like that. Hitler pointed a finger and it landed on the innocent. In my opinion this is what I see but to you. You can think whatever you like.

You are right:
Hitler
South Africa
Milosevic (sp? - Serbia/Yugoslavia)
Pol Pot (sp? - Cambodia)
Hussein
Rwanda
the Democratic Republic of the Congo
the Sudan
These are the atrocities where its victims are still living. I cannot name them all. HITLER was the most successful in his endeavors though and nearly got an entire CONTINENT to follow him down a bloody path. The rest were isolated I guess and barely spilt over boarders.
