There is a homeopathic remedy by either Boiron or B & T, called Optique. Worked really well for me a few years ago when I had this problem. I keep it on hand to use for allergy season.
Possibly at the root of your problem is liver toxicity. (It was for me.) Do you have slightly thickened eyelids? Any little bumps under the eyelids? This is one of the first places liver problems show up.
If this applies to you, a simple liver cleanse consisting of Milk Thistle Seed, Buplurum, Burdock Root or Red Clover, and Dandelion Root or other mild diuretic, taken for 30 days, will greatly improve the situation. Look for a similar formula in your health food store. (Need to drink lots of liquids & keep the bowels moving with fiber during this cleanse to avoid reabsorbing the toxins.)
Also supplement with Beta Carotene and Luteine for general eye health. Avoid mascara or other eye products that are not hypo-allergenic.

Never put anything in your eyes that is not fully intended and made to go there. An eye drop is always sterile and pure. So do not put homemade stuff in your eyes or your dry eyes can turn into total blindness. This has happened before do not risk it. For dry eyes try an over the counter product, or go and see an eye doctor. Really dry eyes can abrade the cornea so seek real competent relief.
