It's OK to take baths but they have to be warm baths and not long.

yes as long as you are not scalding yourself, in the tub you will be fine. I worked for a OB & he insisted this is just a old wives tale. However that said here are some cautions, no spas/hotubs all the chemicals with heat in dirty water is a definante no, no public pools in the 3rd trimester, and no baths within 5 weeks of due dat, if your water begins to rupture of leak it will cause infection. The bath is fine, although I heard many patients say they took a quick shower to clean off before relaxing in the tub to keep the water clean as possible, however I really do not know if that makes a diffarance. Good Luck & Realx

You can take a long bath, shower or even sit in a spa IF and ONLY IF the water temp is at 100 degrees or below! Anything higher can raise your body temp and well, basically can cook the baby. Also, it can raise your blood pressure and cause problems with the fetal blood flow. My doctor says the baby "cooking" is more common in first trimester and high blood pressure in the later trimesters.

Yes, and no. You can take a long WARM bath, it has to be at or under 95 degrees. No spas or hot tubs though, but a regular bath is okay as long as the temperature is low enough.

You CAN take a hot bath. Just try not to make it hot enough to raise your body temperature. We had a birth tub in our house when my 3rd was born and I was told to keep the temperature around 101 degrees, so I think as long as your water is no hotter than that, you are fine.

You cannot take a long hot bath during pregnancy -- it's not a good idea. You can take a warm bath and make sure that it's no hotter than 100 degrees.

You can take baths the whole time. Do not make it too hot though, if your skin turns red it's too hot.

It should be fine but check with your doctor. Baths can cause infections. Check with your doctor. Remember there is no such thing as a dumb question. Especially when it comes to pregnancy.
