i really admire you, you sound like a sensible 15 year old. well my first job was in a local chip shop, i too was 15 & even though my pay was a bit crap I got a kick out of earning some extra pocket money to go out with my mates/and free chips!haha! all you gotta do is ask around in some local shops/cafe's & type up a CV with your school qualifications so far & other voluntary/free time you have given up to help someone else. be honest about your age & say you are willing to learn on the job/get another qualification. say you are a friendly person and other great qualities you have (ie sensible!!!!) & hand them out neatly in envelopes to the people you ask for job vacancies. Even if they do not have a post right now they will keep hold of your "amazing" CV & may contact you at a later date with a job...its not what you know sometimes..its who you know!! Dress smartly too whilst handing out you CV..give a lasting impression!!
for fear of sounding like your parents...i would advise you to consider a UNI course when you leave school...a degree will set you up for life in the long run! good luck hunny, if you need more advice let me know! XXXX

15 year olds can work. it is legal! However you are only allowed to work for a number of hours per week. On weekdays you can not work during school hours - this is illegal and at weekends you are only allowed to work a few hours at a time - you can't work a full's day shift. As a result it is difficult to get a job at this age as employers usually want someone who by law is more flexible - i.e. someone over sixteen! The only jobs I can really think of that are easy to get hold of at your age is a paper-round or babysitting! Or maybe justtry getting some more money out your parents by offering to do more chores!!

I would just enjoy your free time for the time being and when you turn sixteen then consider finding a part-time job (if you're intending to go college after). There will be more options available for you - such as working in retail outlets! At 15 you would not get paid that much either - anyone under the age of 18 is paid a child rate of pay.

Write a short note out to some local independant shops(not big chain stores like TESCO), local garden centres and florests, a local restaurant, pet shop or hair dressers, crown bowling club or horse riding school etc. (Family businesses) where you would help out and not necessarily handle money or deal with customers.

Or pop a note through a few doors in your street where there are young children, offer your services as a babysitter, for £5 an hour.

Describe your personality briefly, kind, caring etc, and your age, say that you would like to work 4 or 6 hours a week or whatever suits you.

Keep it brief and include your home phone number.
Tell those you live with about it first, so they agree, and understand what you want to do, and they can also go along with you to see anyone who calls you up to enquire.

Lots of places are busy during the run up to xmas, so may need a helping hand.

Deliver the notes to the places addressed to 'The manager', and see what happens.

good luck x

Your allowed to work at 15 but only a certain amount of hours. I think New Look employ 15 year olds but you would need to double check, also has an employee at New Look you get a 50% discount.

If all else fails you could always ask local traders down the maret if they need help or you could come up with your own money making schemes i.e doing errands for people for a fee etc

Hope this helps.

In the USA, about the only place a 15 year old can get hired on is the grocers as a bagger. It is hard here to find a job until 18.

Babysitting, mothers helper, vacation house watcher are all ways to pick up some cash here.

McDonald's, high-street shops, cafes, newsagents, estate agents, Bakeries, Sandwich shops. All these kind of places employ people of your age as weekend staff. Nobody will employ you full time though as you are not old enough for a full time job. Good Luck with the job hunt.

as an employer. your friend should not be working at 15 it is illegal. finish school get good grades then when you have qualifications get a good job. Do not follow your friend, education is more important. Trust me I know. 16 years of age is when you are allowed to work not 15.
