If you set your computer to block cookies, does that mean any website you navigate to will not able to track your IP address, or just that they will not be able to give you a cookie?

Cookies are the biggest red herring on the internet.

Forget the cookies and worry about getting your PC virus and trojan-proofed, people, so you won't be relaying so much dang spam to everyone else!

They will not be able to give you a cookie. FWIW not accepting cookies will seriously degrade your internet experience.

If you want to surf anonymously use a proxy or cloaking service.
