does it matter what order i read the series of the clique.?

i finish reading the first book and i was wondering if it matters what order i read the series of the clique. i think the 2nd one is already checked out so i checked out another book from the series. so i dont know if i should continue reading or should i wait until i get the second book?

oh and i checked out the 3rd book instead.

My sister read the first book. She meant to go get the second book but she got the fifth one by mistake. She read half the book and had nooo idea what the heck was going on. So yes, this is a series that you need to read in order.
