i have a choice of going to either one, but i dont know what to decide, and i dont really mind the campus size. i live right here in los angeles, and i need some feedback. many of my friends dont have this oppurtunity so i dont know who to turn to. many people have different opinions and everyone has a university even if they dont attend there, there are so many rivalries between these two schools. so i was wondering what should i do? thank-you

Basically, you go visit, get a tour and just a general feeling for the campus. Research on issues that are important to you. Some examples might be - what are the class sizes? what are the requirements for the degree I want to obtain? What are the costs I will incur? Does this school offer a social atmosphere that I like?

The most important question to ask would be: Do they have my major?

You're never going to be happy at a college that doesn't have the degree plan you want to pursue. If you don't know, then try to narrow it down between a general college (like liberal arts or science) and find out with school has the best program.

Congratulations, those are both excellent universities! If you know what you're interested in studying, than you want to go to the university that has the best program for your chosen field. If you don't know, than my best suggestion is to visit both campuses for a day (do the tour thing, but also sit in on some classes and check out the student union and dining halls.) See where you feel most comfortable. Look at the student body and think about who you want to be surrounded by for four years, and consider whether one place makes you feel more comfortable than the other. If you're being offered scholarship packages, those should figure heavily into your decision as well. Either way, you're going to get a great education and have an amazing time. Have fun!

UCLA is the higher ranked school. Since you are a California resident, it will be less expensive for you to go there.

There are a few departments where USC is better than UCLA. For example, if you want to major in Film, then USC is the better choice.

In nearly everything else -- UCLA dominates. If that doesn't convince you -- then ask yourself this question -- would you rather wear blue and gold or that ugly maroon?

1. If you are majoring in some aspect of film, or movie making, go to USC.
2. If you aern't, check out your financial aid package offers, and go to the school where you won't be paying off huge student loans nine years after graduating.
