All the ship has to do is land on a asteroid.
Then it can go for a ride exploring the universe.
Why doesn't NASA explore this avenue.
Since the asteroid contains all the elements for life, theorectically the ship can have self-contained power to survive.
Isn't this logical in the course of space travel?

Asteroids orbit the sun, same as everything else in the solar system. So, you would simply be going around in circles. And we can do that on Earth.
