Just try solving it. y = 4x-5, so 6x + 4(4x-5) = -9, so 22x - 20 = -9, 22x = 11. So x = 0.5, and y = 4*0.5-5 = -3. Thats consistent.

(4x - y = 5 (4)
(6x+4y=-9

(16x - 4y = 20
(6x + 4y = -9
Addition:
16x - 4y + 4y + 6x = 20 -9
16x + 6x = 11
22x = 11
x = 11/22
x = 1/2

4x - y = 5
4(1/2) - y = 5
2 - y = 5
-y = 5 - 2
-y = 3
y = -3
Answer: (1/2, -3)
