It is normally 28 days apart. Like the moon cycle. That is why some cultures call them "moon times". Since you are just starting out, you can reasonably assume that it will be 28 days from the start of one to the start of another. The older you get, the less regular they become.

No not everyone has a 28 day cycle and when you first get your period it can take up to a year for you to get on a regular cycle. Some women never have a totally regular cycle. Count 28 days from the first day you had your period and this is when you can expect it but that doesn't mean if it doesn't come that anything is wrong.

Hello:
This is a very intelligent question.
I dont know how old you are which may make a difference, however, the majority of women's cycles last on average 28 days. Of course this is based on a bell curve so you have outliers and individuals who fall into 1 or 2 standard deviations from the mean.
In my experience practicing medicine, some women's cycles range anywhere from 25 to 32 days.
If you are young, healthy and have no hormonal imbalances, polycystic ovarian disease, anorexia, you should be pretty regular, however since this was your first menses, the next few may be irregular in length and/or amount of days of actual menstrual flow.
So to sum up, the average is 28 days.
I hope this helped answer your question.
Regards,
Warren Shaffer, M.D.

It is not 28 days for everyone. I would count out 20 to 25 days from the first day of your last one and be ready for it to come any day after that. Maybe start wearing a pantie liner on day 25 so that you catch the first spotting that will come when you start again.

Not everyone is 28 days. Until your body gets on a schedule yours may vary from 21 days to 30 days. Count from the first day your period started and mark the 21st day on your calendar. That way you know about when it will begin and to be prepared with your sanitary products.

Forkface....lol

No, not everyone is 28 days. Expect a month give or take a few days. BUT since you are just starting, sometimes it can be really unpredictable. You will learn the signs that your period is coming. Some women get tired, some get hungry, some get crappy, some get bloated. But each woman has signs...called PMS = premenstral syndrome.

Welcome to womanhood....

You must be pretty young, so I bet it will take a while for your cycles to start evening out (unless you are on the pill). Women have cycles that go from 25 days to 29 days, typically. It's hard to predict when yours will come next because you haven't had lots of periods before. I'd say be ready for the next one in 25 days so you don't get surprised. Keep track of the dates so that you can make better guesses as you go.

Definitely not. When you first start menstuating, you're probably going to be irregular. So it might be two weeks, or four weeks, or eight weeks, or some other crazy time period before you start again. Things will even out as you get older, and you'll start to just "know" when you're about to start. Your body feels differently, and PMS is no myth, its totally real! But if you figure that in about four weeks you'll start again, you're most likely going to be right. Just don't freak out if it doesn't work out like that. I had friends in middle school who had a first period, then didn't have a second one for six or eight months.

it ranges usually between 28 and 35 days and that doesn't mean it will be exactly the same each month. Just start marking the first day of your period each month on a calendar and that will give you and idea of when it should start.
