It seems like people are more oppposed to Interrcial realtionships in the South even in diverse big cities like DC(Live in DC) and Baltimore.I used to date a latino guy and I got scorn from Black, white, and latino people. What's the big deal? Why is it so hard to deal withthis in this region?

I don't give a DAMN about the looks and stares, and if someone says a damn word about my family, they'd better be ready for a verbal assault. I don't take that crap. I'm engaged to a vietnamese/german man and we have a daughter.

People need to mind their own damn business. They can't even keep their own households in order because they're worrying about what i'm doing in mine.

I'm moving to Florida in a year and i'll be damned if someone says anything about my daugther or my fiance. So far, though, when we've been to Florida, there have been no problem.

People who've got a problem are asinine and I don't tolerate stupidity. Tell those nosy azz, no life having, sick with their own lives, hatin azz idiots to *** off if they've got a problem.

You just take care of yourself and don't, for a second, let someone disrespect you and yours.

I'm going to have to agree that DC is not the south. I know its below the Mason-Dixon, but there is no southern culture, tradition, or attitude in DC, northern VA, or MD at all, so it doesnt' really qualify as the south. That said, you've got to recognize that opposition to interracial relationships is a pervasive attitute all over this country. You think its bad in DC, try Alabama or Oklahoma or Montana. I don't know why people don't like it, its such a stupid holdover from generations past. But you know what? Do your thing and date who you want! And the people who don't like it...the hell with 'em!

The south has a history of prejudice. Plain and simple. It's vastly better than it used to be, though.

My wife and I used to get stares all the time (she's black, I'm white).

Now it's been so long since someone stared, I'd check my fly to make sure it wasn't open.

been there, done that, and been through it. love who you love and fk the rest. if they don't like it oh well!!!!!

i hate the fact that people do not want to simply get past the color of someone's skin. however, the good thing is...... if you 2 have kids, your kids will grow up knowing that there is nothing wrong with other races, and will most likely to be open minded, well rounded children.

you have to ignore them honey. I have family members in interracial relationships and they are doing fine. You cannot let others tell you or make you live and love a certain way fk 'em and stop complaining about it. Go on living.
