i need to know if a docotor always checks to see if you have hiv while pregnant or do you need to ask him to do a blood test

When they take blood for all your tests at the beginning, there is a form that you have to sign to either accept or decline the HIV test.

This is a common test while pregnant, but you have to agree to it. The Doctor will not force you to take the HIV test, you have the choice to turn it down.

everyone in the uk gets checked, unless you decline, im not sure where u live though so it may not be the casenot sure? but if u live in the uk you get routine blood tests around the first time you go to an antenatal app and they tests for a number of things hiv included. hope this helps .

i know in some states its required that the mother has an HIV test. check with your doctor if its done when you have your first round of bloodwork.

My OBs office checks for HIV as part of the first set of bloodwork at the beginning of your pregnancy. If you are not sure, just ask the nurse at your next visit. I think it has became pretty mandatory though. Good luck!

the will check when they send you to get blood tests....whether you ask for it or not...
