I am only a Freshman in college, but I am already looking at graduate schools because I am trying to finish college in three years. I am majoring in sociology with a concentration in education and a minor in psychology. I aspire to be a high school guidance counselor, but I don't know any grad schools with a good program in this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I would strongly recommend making appointments with your academic counselors in both the education and psychology departments (sociology isn't quite as relevant for being a HS counselor). They will be able to point you toward some programs of interest. Also, they can help tell you what kinds of courses or activities you should take to make you more competitive for graduate admissions. You can ask your professors for advice as well (assuming they do something remotely related to your area of interest).

If you want to be a guidance councilor, you should get your master's degree in education.

Upon commencement from college, you've with slightly of luck done nicely, taken the MCAT, and been commonly used into med college. it extremely is the perfect problem. in case you probably did not do as well as you had became hoping undergrad, you may honestly bypass on to graduate college and get a carry close's to strengthen your application, and grant you with time to get your MCAT up. So, you may bypass right away from college...or... you may bypass to graduate college earlier med college. only relies upon on how all of it pans out for you. i wish you get into med college first to get it over with. by how, there is no way that individual above is a med student. that doesn't even make experience.

I attend graduate school Indiana University, and though I am not getting my degree in the fields you mention, our School of Education is often cited as one of the best in the country. You may want to look into their programs to see if it fits what you are looking for. Here's the school's web address.

Harvard has a great education school, you should check it out. I think they have a special program for school administration, too.

Here in Canada you would first need to obtain teaching certification and a M.Ed in Counselling. I suspect they would prefer candidates with teaching experience over those with no teaching experience.
