They are painless contractions of the muscles of the uterus that will continue throughout your pregnancy and will increase frequent. False labor pains.

Braxton Hicks feel like a sudden tightening of your whole belly, but I'd say you feel them the most in your lower belly. Your whole belly will go hard with Braxton Hicks. They are not 'painful'..just uncomfortable. Braxton Hicks contractions also do not become regular and stop if you move around. Real labour contractions get really regular (you can usually time it on a clock when the next one is coming), closer together, hurt like bad menstrual cramps and actually get worse when you move around, not better.

Braxton Hicks contractions final for aproximately 30 seconds to two mins and are often referred to as train contractions. You might train respiring physical games to get in a position for the truly factor. If the contractions fade, don't get more potent or extra excessive, and don't have a suite time among them, then it's Braxton Hicks and you've got not anything to fear approximately.

compared to the contractions you feel during labor braxton hicks are pretty mild. they can sometimes get a little uncomfortable towards the end but not usually with first pregnancies. also if they are braxton hicks they will change if you get up or lay down and usually a warm bath can calm them.

Braxton Hicks feel like a tightening of your belly. They don't hurt. They are just your body getting ready for the real thing. By the way, they hurt, but I don't know anyone who really cares. This is one instance in which the end justifies the means! Congratulations!

feel a little like period cramps to me. Normal contractions(thankfully) hurt you in a totally different area(your abdomen)
This is just from my experience and some of my friends, normal contractions feel like you gotta take the worst crap of your life multiplied by 100. That's how those hurt. Braxton hicks, like I said, hurt a little bit and feel most like period cramps...to me

Just like a squeezing sensation. Your uterus gets hard and it just feels like its squeezing you. No they dont hurt me at all and I get them all the time. BIG difference between real contractions and Braxton Hicks

"Braxton Hicks" is another word for "False Labor".
It may appear, that the person is going into labor, although the pains are not as severe. It is the Womb being stretched by the movement of the baby, who is now becoming too big for the Womb, and is preparing itself for the onset of the actual Labor.

they don't hurt and are just a little uncomfortable or "weird" feeling. You feel the belly tighten up. I think they get worse with every child. I barely noticed them with my first, but with my second they would become pretty uncomfortable. They don't even come close to hurting like a real contraction

They don't hurt like normal contractions. Almost like presure around the belly.

My doc said drink water. They *think* they sometimes come on when you aren't hydrated enough. Mine seemed to go away after drinking water.
