A paradox is when something seems contradictory, but is true

A paradox is a contradiction, that which cannot exist in reality. An omnipotent God is a prime example of a paradox, as nothing can be all powerful. Could God create a rock so heavy that he could not lift it? You will find that either answer limits Gods power, and thus makes an all powerful God impossible.

Zeno's paradoxes were paradoxes of the time, but are no longer. Most of Zeno's paradoxes are about motion, and while they are ingenious and helped bring about the static theory of motion, they don't take into account that we don't have to travel each "infinite fraction of a distance" one at a time.

Maybe the most famous paradox of all time is Zeno's paradox (might be spelled Xeno, not sure). Here's a link to the Wikipedia article:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeno%27s_paradox

The important part about paradoxes is that they're technically unsolvable... "mindfreaks" or something along those lines. I have to admit that the Wikipedia article is pretty in-depth, but hopefully it'll get you where you need to go... you could always just search for "paradox" there and I'm sure you'd get something.

Good luck!

Here are a couple of well known ones for the liar paradox,

I lie all the time .......

When you say I lie all the time, you are telling the truth and because of this, it's false, you are not lying.

This statement is false......

This statement is false is a declaration of truth, therefor its not a false statement, its the truth.

OK I'm staying away fom paradoxes and the like for a while, my head is birrrrrrrrrling.

Examples of preachers who believe in what they're saying and believe in God, yet break their own moral codes sexually, by alcohol and drugs or other immoral behavior on the sly. It is a paradox because the men are role models for their congregations, but their behavior is otherwise.

Life is but a dream or illusion. All things are but God. God goes to sleep & has a dream of living on this earth. Can you see this is all true, depending on your point of relativity. "You are a carnal man," At the same time "God dwells within you as you"
