Pack your bag and head out--that baby is going to be here soon--Congrats--and yes everything is normal

The dr did this with my 1st baby (only she called it rimming the cervix)--however at exam I was at 4cm and they admitted me--they had to break my water and because I was at a 4cm they weren't sending me home even though I wasn't contracting--but within in 6 hrs I was

Well I know it is normal to bleed right after an internal exam and you should not confuse this with your mucous plug (I just read this from What to Expect when Your Expecting). I was having the same thing when I had my exam. However she did strip your membranes and that should hopefully put you into labor within the next 24 hours. Good luck and watch for contractions.

Oh yes that is Very normal, actually that is what it is supposed to happen. When the doctor Stripped your membranes it was to help your labor come faster. I'd suggest do some walking around to help gravity along, this should help you go into labor. Also make sure you get a shower and pack your hospital bags, because you should be headed there soon!! Best of luck!!

It's always normal to spot after sex or a vaginal exam. I have never heard of a doctor stripping membranes (My last app was 2 days after my due date and I was 50% and dilated to 2cm....she didn't do anything besides the exam). I am not sure what's happening because that procedure sounds weird to me, and I have never even heard of it. Maybe best to contact your doctor and ask? Good Luck!

You are now can be in labor any time. It happened to me before. Be prepared, be ready. It just the matter of you dilate and the water break or not. Time your contraction. The closer they are, the longer the contractions last is the sign for you to admit to the hospital. Stay calm and good luck.

The same thing happened to me. After I had my internal exams when I was that far in pregnancy, I would have the same problem. I used the paper gown I wore to wipe myself, and it was brownish blood. I was concerned, so I called the doctor right back in and showed it to her. She said it was fine and completely normal because of the internal. Make sure you call them and ask so you are not worrying. Good luck to you and your baby.

Yah, its normal...stripping the membranes is done to kick start labor. Some times it works some times it doesn't. From what your saying...you'll be in full labor in about 48hrs.

Congrats on your baby!

I would say you ARE losing your mucus plug. That is what mine looked like.Your cervix was "ripe" which is why your OB "stripped your membranes". My OB called it stretching my cervix. I had my baby that night! I bet you will go into labor SOON SOON! How exciting!! :-)
