Hey, I was wondering, I've always noticed that there seems to be some hostility from the britist directed towards the French. I was wondering why this is? And before you answer, please note that i am infact looking for a reason, or a site were i can find out about this. Weather it has historical significance or otherwise. And please, no racial bashing (eg, 'their snobby', etc.). And I'm not French, in case you're wondering.

It has been going on for hundreds of years. THe V sign comes From the Battle of Agincourt when French soldiers were dispached to cut off the fingers of the English Bowmen, and they taunted the French by waving their fingers at them.

Well in my opinion low educated british people are hostile with French as low french people with British. It's just education.

But I've noticed british newspapers are very rude with Frenchies.

Anyway as a French I always have good relationship with cool British and bad with stupid ones.

And I'm sorry about my poor english

It's not just the British towards the French, it's also French towards British.

I had absolutely no problem with the French....until I went to France. Now I'm not generalising, I mean, a lot of them were lovely, but some seriously were just ridiculous. Me and my friends went to Parc Asterix and we were just being STARED at CONSTANTLY! They weren't even trying to hide the fact that they were staring at us, they just stared and were blatantly talking and laughing about us. It absolutely ruined my trip. Then some stupid people started making fun of my friend because she's overweight. Then these other people started smoking in my face offering me a cigarette (I swear, SO MANY PEOPLE smoke in France) and then he goes, "are you English?" and I just said yeah. Then he was like, "parlez vous francais?" and I said "oui en peu" then he started going to my friend: "qu'est ce que tu as fait moche?" which means are you ugly ? And I was like WHAT you stupid idiot I just told you I spoke french then you start making fun of my friend! We did NOTHING to them and I was so pissed off during that whole day arrrrghhh I don't want to think of it again. I'm certainly not generalising but some of the French are extremely rude and obnoxious.
