Personal gain.
(9/11 happend over a course of several various events, therefore, stopping just one would do nothing to prevent it.)

I would change nothing big. If we stopped 911, or if we stopped some other major disaster, who knows what kind of chaos our world would be sent into. I believe everything happens for a reason. If I went back and stopped 911, then something else may happen later on that kills way more people, and causes way more destruction. The US learned a lot from 911. Unforunate that it took something like that to make us open our eyes though. The event I would change is what i wore yesterday...I was miserable all day. And I don't think me changing my outfit would have destroyed the planet.

that is a loaded question depending on what you believe.
i believe that every action made by every person has an effect.
i think that no matter how small, the actions we take have amuch greater effect. kind of like a snowball.
if i had to choose cut and dry, without a gray area i think that i would choose to stop a major disaster becasue that is personal gain for someone and may end up being personal gain for me. if i were to stop 911 that would be personal gain for everyone that has suffered. and perhaps if everyone chose to stop a disaster then eventually it would be my personal gain somehow too.
moral of the story: put others before yourself, it will pay off in the longrun. whether it be in personal gain or just the fact in knowing that you prevented someones tragedy

Neither. I firmly believe that no matter how good or bad an event is, it was meant to happen for some reason, even if we can't understand it then, or even when we will never be able to understand it. Perhaps a better way of putting it would be that every event no matter how slight causes reprocussions which we may actually benefit from, even if we cannot see it at the time. I try to see the good in all situations and even when there is no good to be seen from a disasterous event, I still believe that good will probably come from it in some form, at some time, even if it is many, many years away. That might be hard to understand, but since we cannot change things, perhaps it's best to find a way to deal with what does happen. That's my way of doing so.

Well... I'm a firm believer in the more realistic side of temporal manipulation... that is, if you change the past, it also changes your present.. and that could be better or worse, but you have no way to know. That being said, I wouldn't change anything.
IF this was a case of more movie-esque changing the past and it makes things "the way I would want them" then that's obvious... I'd set it up so I basically was the most wealthy person in the world, and then I'd use that wealth for a variety of things, including personal enjoyment, but also to help where I think help is needed.

Greed or Good? Wow, what a deep question. When you find a person that truly, honestly answers that they would stop the major disaster you need to marry them.

Personal gain I guess because I would stop the man I love from dying. Is that personal gain? A lot of people would be happy to have him back and my kids need their father back.

I hate to sound selfish but it would be for personal gain in my case. If I could alter one thing from the past, It would be to have my 10 month old Grandson back. He died if SIDS. There is not a day that goes by that I don't miss him. He was the sweetest baby ever. "GOD BLESS YOU NOAH"
