Is it true that swimming in cool water, can grow the fat under skin like polar beers have? I have heard that from several sources, but i dont know if its true. And people who use to not dress up warmly in cold weather will have also extra fat as organism reaction against the cold.

From a medical perspective and research done with rats (known as canteen rats) There are 2 distict types of fat.
Yello fat that is formed from eating those yummies but adds pounds. This is known in the profession as yellow fat and is generally unhealthy. Fatter people feel the cold more then thinner people on average.
Experiments done with rats that were subjected to intense cold for longer and longer periods and fed normal healthy diet developed a differnt fat that is known as brown fat cells. It is this type of fat that was found to be more insulating against the cold.
Rats with yelloiw fat were trialed in the freezer but died after a small time of exposure. Whilst the brown celled rats could survive up to 80 hours in minus 20 with supplied food.

Further to these experiments, human guinea pgs submitted to apply less clothing in cold conditions and were maintained on a normal diet minus the heavy fats and sugars and then had their fats examined ( by surgical intevention) It was found that they had begun to devlop brown fat cells in greater proportion to yellow fat cells and had greater resistance to cold.

So Yes it is true that certain body fat content will insulate you against cold, but it is specifically brown fat cells.
Wear less clothing when its cold and burn more calories and develop the healthy brown fat cells and possible even live longer than your yellow fat ridden friends

It tends to be that way, living in colder climates the body tends to store fats as to keep the body warm. Its also due to the fact that its harder to get around up there. But as for swimming in coldwater, no, that will not grow fat under your skin. Not eating right is a major cause as is sitting on your **** answering questions online.
Eskimos and the Neandertals in Europe had an extra layer of fat around their brain to keep it warm due to the harsh environments they lived in. It would also explain their funky looking heads..
