Im being serious here. My wife, constantly cooks, cleans, does my laundry, and caters to me, almost too much. I think she has OCD when it comes to cleaning which my pals tell me is a good thing. Hey most guys look for a gal like this, but my wife is always on the go, never relaxing a bit. How can I get her to chill out, or should I just let her keep doing what she does? She's the old school type ya know?? everything is about ME. I am not like most guys to take advantage of this, because I like to take her out too but most times she just says "no i'll cook, we can stay home". this is cool, but heck im not an old fart. Any suggestions?? No funny games fellas

Tell her she deserves a night out for all that she does for you and she if she will go out and relax.

You are lucky, and she's just as lucky to have someone realize how lucky he is. I think what you'll need to do is put your foot down about some things. "Insist" that the two of you go out, not just to dinner, but to a place that the two of you will enjoy, such as the movies, listening to a jazz trio, a play at the local theater. Or while you're out running errands, simply say, "I'm hungry. Let's go to Applebee's and get some lunch." Tell her that you want to spend time with her, but that her inability to relax with you puts a strain on the relationship. The best way to deal with this situation is honesty.

your a very lucky man. I wish my bf could feel as though he waslucky, i do it all too and get taken advantage of...i hardly ever get a thank you or anything... before bed sometimes i get an i love you and so on... Your very lucky to have such a great wife...i would really try hard to find a way to get her to accept your invite for dinner one night( man i wish i had that chance)...explain to her that she does so much for you, and u feel as though your taken advantage of it and you would love to re-pay her for all shes odne and the most you can do is take her to dinner or something. Maybe one day you can clean the house and do laundry than maybe she would realize a little help isnt so bad!! best of luck, and remember you got your self a great wife!

You sound REALLY lucky to me! But I think that you should try helping her out instead of just telling her to kick it down a notch. You just might have to put your foot down and insist that you guys go out to dinner or something. She might have some sort of strange worry that if she does not do everything perfect, maybe she'll lose what she has. Just try to get her to take a break and let you step in once in a while. And also, reassure her that she is wonderful no matter what.

Be very, very grateful and let her continue being good to you but be equally good to her. Compliment her on the things she does. Surpise her with small tokens of love and appreciation. Yes, take her out once and awhile. Tell her "I know you can cook and I love your cooking but I want to take you out so you can relax and the world can see what a beautiful and special wife I have." I know it may seem corny but I love it when my husband tells me I am beautiful and special even when I don't feel like I am.
Congratulations on such a catch!

Dear asker,

Maybe by feeling productive, she is showing you how much she loves you. Some people are raised that way and is wonderful to see that they are women that keep their household and husband happy.

I'm like that too, here is my story and my suggestion to you: My bf was perplexed with my non-stop cleaning hard labor, but I just wanted everything perfect for him.

One day he softly held my hand and stopped me from scrubbing the kitchen counter for the third time and he said in the most loving voice: "Honey, I want a girlfriend, not a slave. You work so hard, I really appretiate it but I enjoy your company more than the antiseptic kitchen counters. I love you, please come and sit with me".... and then he kissed my clorox smelling hands....

Isn't he sweet? He demostrated me that he appretiated what I was doing but he wanted to enjoy my company. I've relax quite a bit since.

I hope this helps

Good luck

Well this time its hard to find women like your wife. You are one lucky person. But if you really want her to treat, for all those chores and devotions, bring her out shopping and at the same time you can go out eat and have a date. If you love her think of something that makes her fill the missing things that you are looking for. Adjustments....

catch her off guardm do something for her, have the laundry done and put up before she gets home, make her a dinner by candle light and then clean up yourself, It will make her day, also talk to her, tell her to make you a honey do list so you can help her out, if she doent, just do it yourself, it sounds like she needs to relax, send her to a spa, and you do all the chores, let her see you can do things too. she might relax then.

some women are simply like this. my mother is one of those people, and so is my grandmother. maybe give her a day off every week or help out as much as you can. let her sleep in and make her a delicious breakfast. hopefully she'll get that you want to be able to help around the house, too, and she'll relax more.

Mabey you should help her sometimes because she might think you are just using her or something. And if she really have OCD get her to see someone. But first you should test it out. First tell her not to clean your room and make it messy on purpose.
