I pray that someone can help my family for Christmas. I am a single mom of 2 very beautiful deserving girls ages 14 and 6. The 14 year old is disabled and we are having a real rough time right now. We are on a very low income of my daughters disability and VERY little help from the father. I am a bit embarrassed by asking this but I am really heart broken and depressed about this issue. My daughters are so excited about Christmas and keep talking about what Santa is going to bring them. They both believe in Santa and I am so scared that I will not be able to provide Christmas gifts for them this year and be forced to tell them the truth that Santa is really me. My heart aches because I have not been able to find any help anywhere and I think that by telling them that there is no Santa will rob them of their innocence and that kills me. I feel so bad. Can anyone help or tell me where I may find some help? Salv Army, United Way etc has closed deadline I CANT FIND ANY HELP!

Call a local church in the area and/ or the News media
( to bring attention- for donations, or help you with information ) . They will help you. Best of luck to you .

Try the churches. Any friends or family that can give you a loan? Have you asked the father to give anything that he can? Id be getting child support from him but thats another issue. Ask around if anyone knows of a place that may be able to help. If you get a little cash,,check out second hand stores for toys. You can find really great stuff there.Good luck to you & your babies.I feel so sad reading your story.Bless your heart.God will provide,,keep trying,,God will help those that help themselves (and Im not a religious type of person). But I beleive this.

I would suggest a local church both as help for Christmas and help through out the year. They have wonderful people and are a great support net work. You may need to try on a few churches to see which one fits the best for you. This will also help you refocus your girls away from the commercialization of Christmas.

Some malls have Christmas trees where families that need help write down on a tag a gift they would like to have. The tags are hung on the tree and shoppers can select the tags and shop for the gift. Maybe you could contact malls in you area to see if something like this is available.

My heart goes out to you and please don't be embarressed, we are all a paycheck away from poverty! Is there a local church you can contact, our community has a white gift or what about a local pantry? If they find out about your plight they'll find a way to help usually. If nothing else make it a real time of togeatherness celebrating Christmas with even a few dollar gifts. I'll pray for you.

Contact a church nearby. My church put together a whole bunch of gifts together for a couple deserving families like yours. If your not a Christian that might seem a bit awkward but its for your girls. Good Luck and may God bless you with a Merry Christmas!
