Considering the Palestinians and all of their Muslim neighbors want to "cleanse" the Middle East of Jews, yes it can be considered ethnic cleansing.

You may think you are being fair and balanced by asking for both pro and con on an issue but the truth is you are not. The reason why is because you are putting such things up to a VIEWPOINT. Some say yes, some say no.

Imagine if you asked the same thing about the Nazi Holocaust if there was ethnic cleaning and said that some say there was and some not.
That alone would be offensive.

Rather, your focus should be on the FACTS.
So, the question should be: is there any factual evidence that ethnic cleansing goes on? And the answer is clearly NO. Thus, it is irrelevant if someone has a differing view. Because they would be WRONG.

Personally, I'd say no, because I consider an ethnic cleansing to be one-sided. What's going on in Israel involves Palestinians attacking Israelis and Israelis attacking Palestinians. I will, however, concede that much of the violence is being fueled by anti-semitism.

I would still say no. The main Israeli government, and half of the Palestinian government (the Abbas/Fatah half) still seem like they want to work together for peace. The main fighting seems to be between Israel and Hamas, Israel seems to me to be trying to defend itself. Hamas doesn't seem to have any major plan other than cause destruction.

While I suppose that it could be argued Hamas could be trying for ethnic cleansing of Jews, it doesn't seem to have any major plan for doing so. And because of their weakened state at not being able to pay any of their government employees, sooner or later I believe they'll have to join with Fatah (meaning no longer trying to destroy Israel), or they will be have to be removed (hopefully voted out but maybe violently) if only to maintain a working government.

I believe it to be bad, but not anything that could be labeled ethnic cleansing.

Nope, because the Israelis have continuously tried to back off, and everytime they do, the Palestinians play the aggressor again. I think the Palestinians are just begging for it.

Well it is easy to see that Palestinians are the ones who's lives and property have been taken from them .
Anyone who says different is a loon .
All you have to do is a little research into history and you will find United Nations statements denouncing Israeli occupation of lands by Palestinians and mis treatment of them by the state of Israel which at one time and maybe still to this day listed as a state sponsored terrorist nation .
This is the simple truth and many will not accept it .

I have never heard anyone from Israel say they want to kill all Palestinians.
I have heard repeatedly that the Palestinians want to kill all the Jews, force them into the sea, etc.
Any action that Israel takes in self defense are justified.

In the sense that the Arabs wish to cleanse the region of Jews.

See how this idea is promoted in the Arab/Muslim media:

Hezbollah has continually stated its objective of pushing Israel into the sea.

Sounds genocidal to me.

The only ethnic cleansing was last year when the Israeli govt forcibly evicted all Jews from Gaza.
