Generic Name: Magnesium sulfate
Brand Names: Epsom Salt

For Internal Use as a Laxative:
Increases water in the intestine thereby promoting bowel movement.
Dissolve the following doses in 1/2 glass water -
Adults 12 Years or Older:1 to 2 teaspoons
Children 6 to 12 Years:1/2 to 1 teaspoon.
Not recommended for children under 6.

Repeat in four hours if needed. Limit two doses per day. Lemon juice may be added to improve taste. Follow above directions only or as directed by a physician.

P.S.
Before taking magnesium sulfate, tell your doctor if you have any other medical conditions, allergies, or if you take other medicines or other herbal/ health supplements. Magnesium sulfate may not be recommended in some situations.

Do not use magnesium sulfate as a laxative if you have stomach (abdominal) pain, nausea, or vomiting, unless directed by a doctor. If you notice a sudden change in bowel habits that persists over a period of 2 weeks, consult your health-care provider before using a laxative.

Magnesium sulfate should not be used for longer than one week, unless otherwise directed by your health-care provider. Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative may indicate a more serious condition; stop using magnesium sulfate and contact your health-care provider.

The dosage when usingEpsom Salts it as a purgative is 1 to 4 level teaspoonfuls dissolved in a full glass of water. A small quantity of Lemon Juice may be added to help improve the unpleasant taste.

Do not give to pregnant or lactating Mothers or children.
