Communication is the art of conveying something---an idea, concept, feeling---through the spoken or written word or through "body language". Most people view this as a two-way art; that is, that to be successful, communication must travel between the two partners---but the truth is, you can convey an idea and just have someone receive it. There are many different types, depending upon what your goal is: interpersonal communication, which deals with the relationships we establish with others; technical communication, which focuses on giving information; kinetic communication, or body language; etc.

Communication is basically how we talk to one another and express our thoughts and desires, another part of communication is listening or active listening to be more precise, when you give the other person your undivided atttention. Conquer that and the rest will follow. Sign language and prompting are other forms of communication. If you have a small baby say 3-6 months you will understand what i mean, babies use crying to communicate and as they get older, they learn to laugh and smile, parents and siblings often understand what the child wants, thats the beauty of human growth and development. Check this site out. It is very good and I will state here that it does not matter if someone cuts and pastes as long as the information is accurate and the source gets the credit that it deserves. I can give an answer but think it only fair that the answer is as complete as possible.

Someone eventually will cut and paste something from Wikipedia which may or may not be accurate. Y! Answers is really not the place to ask for what in fairness should be a 20-page paper.

Why can't you do this research for yourself? Why WON'T you? College graduates don't usually aspire to using the phrase, "Uh, ya want fries with that?"
