A job would be better but your girlfriend will be getting more money by being by herself with kids than with having a man in the house as the government seems to reward single parent families more than two parent families.
But get a job and either the hours per week multiplied by the hourly rate or the Salary will tell you how much you will get!

First port of call should be the Job Centre - they will advise you. But you really should consider - unless you are in some way incapacitated or will be responsible for child care getting some employment.
I know that you are not the father of her children but it would set a good role model - ie grown ups are responsible and go out to work to look after their families.
You are probably entitled to the same amount of money you have before but HER benefits may be affected as she probably gets the lone parent rate for child benefit and lone parent rate for child tax credit

If your only reason for wanting to move in with her is financial it is not a good enough reason. Don't do it.
Is there any likelihood of your getting a job so that you can keep her with dignity?
