Don't be too worried yet. Let her get her colposcopy done and get the results before you start to worry. I had two paps done that came back abnormally and it was nothing at all. At age 21 I had one that came back and the results said I had the strat of cervical cancer. They had to removed part of my cervix. But, I have had two a year since then and now I am 24 and nothing has come back adbnormal since. Also, the HPV that apparently caused the cancer to begin with has cleared up on it's own. Just remember not to worry too much until you get results.

Plus, you really should show her the letter because while you are worried about her mental well being, and I must applaud you for that, it is her body and her physical well being we are talkinga bout here, and that is something she should really know about.

Good luck to you both.

I have had abnormal pap results in the pass. What she should do is have them give her anther pap test. If that one comes back abnormal, then go ahead and take the colposcopy. My doc in the pass , usually did a 2nd pap before the colp. There are many different reasons that the test came back normal. I have heard the the colp is very uncomfortable, and doesn't guarantee that in the future she will not ever get an abnormal result again. Tell her to ask questions before hand. Every time she gets a abnormal test, are they going to make her take a colop

She will be fine. Most of the time it is nothing, but she needs to get the colposcopy done just in case! I have had 2 and they aren't THAT bad. Not fun by any means...but not bad. HPV can clear up on its own. The dr. will just want to keep a close eye on her for a while... but I wouldn't worry too much. She is so young so chances are she is fine.

pay attention to The mom. She's a clever lady. I had an peculiar pap some years in the past and went with the aid of a technique as she reported. i became into clinically determined with displysia. It fairly skill peculiar devoid of specific reason. I actually have a historic previous of maximum cancers in my kinfolk and HPV so there became into greater interest given than primary. they had me come lower back for yet another attempt, of which they have been given the comparable peculiar outcomes. I then had a colposcopy (a rinsing of the cervix with a answer that motives a visual substitute in cells) and biopsy (they decrease away some cellular samples). That wasn't the main friendly technique yet additionally no longer something which you won't manage to submit to for a couple of minutes. The samples have been examined an desperate non-cancerous. As a precautionary degree, the surgeon had to do away with the cells just to make specific they did no longer dangle around long adequate to grow to be cancerous. They did a painless technique to freeze and kill those peculiar cells noted as cryosurgery. All in all, i became into terrified of the strategies and the outcomes yet I labored myself up over no longer something. If there have been greater subject, i'm confident your surgeon could have you ever lower back faster---so attempt to loosen up and assemble counsel and questions to your next visit.

I freaked out when I got those results, too, but now it's a year later and everything is fine. The HPV has nothing to do with the abortion and is very common.

If she doesn't get it checked, though, it can eventually develop into cervical cancer.
