I miss someone this year.

That is the absolute sweetest thing I have heard anyone say on here! *hug accepted and reciprocated!*

I know what it's like to feel alone during the holidays! I was pregnant 2 years ago at this time and alone (my husband was living temp. 500 miles away). I just kept myself busy until we were together again! I hope you can be with your *someone* again soon!!

I think the idea of a hug is great. I wish I could get a hug for Christmas but I too will be missing someone, actually many someones, this year and doubt I shall get one. In return for your virtual hug I offer you one back in the hope it helps us both miss someone a little less.

Have a lovely Xmas!

Wonderful. How 'bout volunteering? Help out with Toys for Tots or your local food pantry. Cities and charities usually have food kitchens that feed less fortunate during the holidays. Help serve the food. Fix up a shoe box full of goodies for Samaritan's Purse that will be given to a child. Lots of ideas around to give "hugs" to others.

I thought to give everyone a real test this year and donate Christmas gift money to Charity, they all howled like the Hindenburg dropped on them. So I am donating three quarters to an orphans home and giving them the rest and let them pick their own gift.

I think that's a lovely idea. I personally find the commercialism of this season repugnant.
