I been in a forum of a Baptist forum and they said that having a Christmas tree and having Santa Decorations and so on gets your eyes off from the truth which is Christs birth. I am a very strong believer and a church goer. I just felt condemned because of what they said to me.

There are some people who think that enjoyment is a "sin". Let them live miserable lives, if they want to. You do it your way.

I believe you can celebrate the holidays both ways. I see nothing wrong with decorating your house with a Christmas tree and Santa decorations as long as you remember what the holiday is truly about. I don't understand why so many people think you can't celebrate Christmas as a Christian and still believe in the whole Santa thing. You celebrate the holidays the way you feel is right for you. Happy Holidays.

Oh please don't feel condemned. I'm a Christian and I love Christmas trees! If I had a big house I'd have them all over!! I don't do Santa's and even snowmen anymore but I don't judge others that do. The main thing is you know what Christmas is all about and that you find your own special way to honor the Birth of Jesus and keeping focused on this!

First, I suggest you look up the history of Christmas in any encyclopedia. A good online one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas

True christians could be against the holiday because of it being neck deep in pagan rituals. Although the holiday has "Christ" in the name, it has little to nothing to do with Jesus.

A quote from Wikipedia: "The Christmas tree is often explained as a Christianization of PAGAN tradition and ritual surrounding the Winter Solstice, which included the use of evergreen boughs,[33] and an adaptation of pagan tree worship." (Caps mine)

I'm a Christian and am just about to decorate the house and my tree. I don't understand why you were told we were against festive stuff. I think several million others out there will agree. We love Christmas. Have a great Christmas and ignore the minority who think it's wrong

Let's not attack these folks, I'm sure they mean well. Sometimes people get defensive about anything that might diminish the solemnity or value of spiritual truths that they hold dear. Jesus was in the world but not of the world. That means He could get involved with people around Him and not be caught in their excesses or sins. We have a choice to either celebrate the positives of our holiday season and reinforce what Christmas really means to us to people that might just be a "little" more receptive this time of year, or, withdraw into a religious huddle and see ourselves as "the last defenders of the faith". Which do you think your family will listen to when they need someone to pray for them or listen to them? Jesus celebrated at the wedding where He turned the water into wine, but He didn't get drunk. Let's not be negative but look for opportunities to laugh and enjoy all of God's blessings this Christmas season!

Difference in point of view I think. I mean there is nothing wrong with a Christmas Tree, and its not like you are having SATAN Decorations! Just forget about what those people say and do what you think is right! There are millions of people people who will do the same exact thing you do. The Christmas tree means to you more than those people, and thus your shouldn't listen to them.

I am not a Christian but think about it they way.. you believe in Jesus .... what would Jesus say!? I don't he would be so selfish to say "JUST ME" during Christmas!

Santa Claus is looked at as a pagan God because of all the magic that he supposedly has.Christians are also lying when they tell their children about santa claus. Now doesnt the bible speak against lies? Their are no flying reindeer and a santa that brings presents on christmas night. He doesnt see you when your sleeping or see you when your awake(sounds like God doesnt it).Anyone who puts up a tree is considered a heathen in the old testament.Jeremiah chapter 10 speaks against them.
