Since you don't go around slamming people who celebrate Channukah, Ram-a-dan, and Kwanza, tell whoever gets offended by you celebrating Christmas to go blow it out their ear.
Who gives a crap what other people think? I'm so tired of worrying about what other people think of me. I grew up with my mom freaking out all the time about if the house was clean enough (as if anybody ever came over) and how I had to be a perfect little child. Screw it! Be yourself and be happy!

Well, there are a lot of people who don't believe in or celebrate Christmas. However, no one should be offended by a sincere wish of "Merry Christmas". It's a greeting of good will, and the proper response should be, "Same to you" or "Happy Holidays to you also." Society has become so careful not to offend anyone, that they're defeating their own purpose. There was a time, not so very long ago, when people didn't concern themselves with such things as "political correctness". I'm against ethnic slurs or name calling, but I think we carry the "correctness" thing too far.
Here's what I think. We should all be courteous to one another. But by golly, if you're pumped up for Christmas and want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, you just go right ahead and do so. If someone takes offense at it, that's their problem and they'll just have to deal with it. It's getting so ridiculous that pretty soon we will be living in a silent world where no one feels free to express themselves for fear of offending someone.

The "Christ" in Christmas shouldn't offend anyone since it is a Christian holiday. I am well aware of its roots in paganism, but the actual holiday of Christmas is a religious celebration of the birth of Jesus, even though he was not born in December. If the Christ offends you, then you shouldn't celebrate it at all and allow those that want to enjoy it to do so. Go for Festivus instead. You still get to hand out presents, plus you get to tell everyone what they did to piss you off all year.

Christ is what Christmas is all about. Before the name God was taken out of our schools .And, prayers became unacceptable at gatherings, and our children were told by some, that they should not use God's name in the pledge of allegiance, our country was a much stronger nation.
I don't care if someone gives me a dirty look. I do believe in God. I become intolerant of people who think they are going to change the way I feel about my beliefs.
Stand up for yourself. Others people may look at you funny, but you will feel good inside.

The Christ in Christmas never offends me, and I really don't care if it offends anyone else. It's the reason for the season. Although it is known that Jesus wasn't born on December 25 (as I understand it, it is sometime in September) it's celebrated on December 25th traditionally. Best of luck to you........

It's not that it's Christian. It's the unrelenting, overwhelming, in-your-face-every-moment of it. Co-workers and friends generally aren't too bad, just a few, which is tolerable. But the commercialization of it, the advertising, the stress, the crowded streets and shops, the stress, people getting ruder and ruder and ruder for eight continuous weeks.
The next time you're out doing your shopping, or trying to get somewhere across town, or whatever, imagine that it's not your holiday and that you're just trying to live your life. It's everywhere. I don't want the stress, it's not mine.

I just say Happy Holidays, but I don't understand why people get offended at the true meaning of the holiday, yet they support and celebrate it's consumer driven counterpart. Why celebrate something you are offended by?

That's not the original word. It has been called Yule and Winter Solstice for the length the existence of Paganism, which is much older than christianity. Notice that it was called that after jesus dude was mutilated and bloody and stuff.
A lot of the Pagan holidays were stolen by the christians (they say "adopted") So, instead of Samhain, it's Halloween....
You have to be really messed up in the head to take holidays and turn them christian in order to rule the world.

Xmass represents the commercialization of Christmas. It is suppossed to be about the birth of the saviour of the world and not the exchanging of gifts or having to pay the bills all year. I cant believe I am saying this because I am not Christian, by the classic definition.
