I would rather see the Cubs sign Barry Bonds than Sosa. I have no respect for either but Bonds is a better player. They both have the same goals Bonds is 11 or so home runs short and Sosa is close to 600.

No way any team gives him even a sniff. Too much controversy and a clubhouse distraction, especially in Chicago! The media there would be incredibly brutal if he arrived with either Chicago team. Rumor had him looking for work in Japan to prove he can still play, no takers there either for the same reasons. He tainted himself and baseball. He has earned himself a 1 way ticket to the Hall of SHAME and I cant see any team risking signing him.
Bye, Bye....Cheater. Maybe Sosa, McGwire and Palmeiro can open a Juice Bar together....my Mom always said "Do what you know!"

The corked bat, the steroids, the sinking stats, no way the Cubs would take him back. All he wants is to break 600 home runs. He has no interest in revamping his career. It's just a personal goal, that's all. I'm not sure anyone would want to pay him much at all. He needs to just way away. I doubt that he will be getting a call from Cooperstown either.

I don't think he really left on his own. I think he was a free agent and wasn't offered anything by the Cubbies. I lost a lot of respect for him during the Congressional Hearings on Steroids in Sports. He denied using them but he really didn't come over as an honest innocent man, now did he? I say that's the reason he shouldn't come back to Chicago or anywhere else for that matter.

I'm a huge Cubs fan, but I hope Sammy doesn't come back to Chicago. He burnt bridges and then couldn't even get a major team to pick him up last year due to his high money demands that he's not worth anymore.

That would be a bad idea for sammy and the cubs. He isn't as good as he was (probobly the corked bat and steroids that helped him) and he would just be a distraction to the team. Not enough pure talent anymore to be in the league.

time has passed. the cubbies could pick him up for a 1 or 2 million dollar contract for one year. he was a hero in the northside for a longtime and could help spark a comeback. for the price it would cost, it's worth a try. i know this isn't a popular answer, but you gotta give it a shot.

Without the roids he is a below average player. He is a terrible fielder and with no uice he cannot hit. He strikes out alot and the power is gone

Why would ANY team want him. He says he took a year off to rest. Yea, I say he took 2 years off, when you consider his performance with the Orioles. He's bad news.

The phrase is he burned his bridges, but why wouldn't you want him back. For the right price, Sosa could be the best bargain in baseball.
