buy a bottle brush and tylenol for the baby. lots of wipes. i buy the pampers sensitive wipes. also diapers are good but they grow fast so don't buy to many in one size. lots of baby blankets and jumpers you will go through at least three or four a day. crib and bassinets sheets at least two. scratch mits and teething rings ones that you can freeze work better. gas drops and extra nipples for the bottles even if you breast feed. nipple cream for you and take that to the hospital and chap stick for the hospital too. baby socks at least two packs. oh and one of those head pillows for the baby carseats. good luck and have fun.

It's alright to buy a lot of wipes, but don't go overboard on diapers. YOu never know for sure how fast the baby will grow out of each size. Start with one package of newborns and no more than two of the size ones.
If you're going to use the bottles with the liners, stock up on those bigtime. You always seem to run out when you need one the most.
Feel free to stock up on pacifiers. It's a lot easier to just grab a clean one than go searching for the one the baby had just a minute ago. They like to disappear under beds and sofas and who knows where else.
Burp rags, receiving blankets, bibs, washcloths and onsies are all good things to have a number of.
As you get things that need to be washed (clothes, blankets, bedding, etc) wash them and put them away so they're ready when baby comes. The week you're due, sterilize the pacifiers and bottles so they're ready too.
Also, don't forget a thermometer and baby nail clippers. If baby is going to be in a separate room, a monitor.

Wipes are always great to stock up on. Diapers can be a little trickier just because your baby could wind up being allergic/sensitive to a certain diaper brand. We bought a pack of onesies or something every week. Pacifiers, bottles, diaper bag, spit up rags, (I just bought some of the thicker cloth dipers for that purpose) a few receiving blankets. Just pick a few things to buy with every pay check and you should be fully stocked by the time baby comes!

Well I'm 37 weeks and everyone told me to stock up on diapers and if you think you have enough you probably don't. Wipes, baby shampoo, lotion, towels, diaper rash cream, Mylencon drops(however you spell that) it's for gas and I heard they are a lifesaver. Also you should buy a first aid kit. Good luck.

Well...my baby came out BIG and never needed newborn diapers...so I wouldn't buy those right away..buy the size 1 instead and send your husband out to buy newborns if necessary.
If you're interested, I use homemade baby wipes. They are a little wetter than regular wipes and a lot less expensive...here's the recipe..try them out...
1/2 roll of bounty paper towels
1 cup of hot water
2 tbsp of baby oil
2 tbsp of baby wash
Pour solution over paper towels and pull out the core.
I keep mine in a rubbermaid container.

Diapers. Get them by the case and in diff. sizes. Wipes, by the case (get the sensitive kind just in case). One piece shirts and pjs. Lots of blankets and burp rags. If you are formula feeding don't go buy a lot right now. Wait till baby comes and see if he/she can tolerate it. Bottles, extra nipples in diff. flows, nursing pads (whether you nurse or not you will still leak), maxi pads.
Make sure keep the receipt on the diapers ect...you can exchange them for a diff brand or size if they won't work for you.
Good luck!

Loads of diapers - those don't expire. Don't buy too many baby clothes because you child may outgrow them soon. Diapers and formula.
Also get diaper genie - babies are cute, but they poop anthrax
