I am currently 31 weeks pregant with my second child. My first child will be a year old on Sunday. But today I have hardly felt my baby move just maybe once or twice. But I have had braxton hicks a few times today which I have had my whole pregnancy.Do you think it is something really serious or do you think it is normal? I am under a lot of stress as I have a 6,4,3 year old boys and a 1 year old daughter and my husband is gone for 10 days at a time out of state. So could that have something to do with it?I plan on mentioning this to my husband who will be home tonight but I really hate to go to the docter and nothing be wrong cause then I feel silly and worried for no reason.

If you have a fetal monitor check his pulse.

If not, lay down, and drink some juice and see if he'll kick atleast 10 times in 2 hours for you.

i found that when iam stressed the baby DOES move, but my mind is totally not paying attention to it, so i dont notice at all and freak out. Ive also noticed, and iam sure you have with all those kids at home, that he'll spend a day or two not movign much as he grows, and then he comes back twice as strong in a couple days.

Definitely try laying down with some juice, or something sweet. See if he doesnt start kicking around.

If he doesnt start to move after laying there for 20-30 minutes, call your doctor.

My doctor always told me if I had a few Braxton Hicks contractions in a row -- to drink a big glass of cold water and lie down for a few minutes. The first sign of dehydration in pregnancy is Braxton Hicks. It's easy to get dehydrated and not know it.

Also, if your baby doesn't move as much it could be OK because at 31 weeks, he/she is getting bigger and won't have as much room to somersault like before.

If it gets worse, just call your doctor...they hear stuff like this all the time and you won't be the first person to call in with a worry. Don't feel silly, that's what you're payin' em for.

The baby can be starting to move down to get ready for the delivery. You might not be able to feel the baby move because you are not relaxing, which would be hard to do with the other children, So try and relax to see if the baby starts to move more and give him/her a little shake, If the baby doesnt move still that much just call your doc be if still worrird go on in better to be safe than sorry.

Stress certainly doesn't help things but yes it's normal. Just keep track over the next couple days for movement. It could be the baby is just resting today. If you start having serious cramping though contact your Dr or the hospital. You can encourage the baby's movement by eating something spicy or just rubbing your hand on your belly and talking to the baby.

I think it's normal. When I was pregnant, I couldn't feel my daughter all the time. Usually only at night when I wasn't active.

Try resting a little more.

But if it's really bothering/stressing you out, then just go to the doctor. Better safe than sorry.

Every thing is probably ok. You said you felt the child a couple of times. Remember their like us some days they are just more sleepy. But if you were to go several days without feeling anything then check with your Dr.

there's nothing wrong with going to the doctor although nothing is wrong. Yes it might be embarrasing but the health of your baby is more important than that. I think that the baby is ok though. due to the circumstances.

It is normal for the baby to not move as much towards the end. He/She is running out of room.
