Indeed. The pillars to any country's power are diplomacy, information, military and economic. In general terms, military should always be the last resort.

The real question is, "Why Iraq?"

I don't disagree that Hussein was evil. I don't disagree that he mistreated his people. It's happening in Darfur, Somalia, North Korea and the Congo (formerly). Why aren't we there? Why didn't we stay FULLY engaged in Afghanistan instead of fighting on two fronts? What was so immediate about Iraq?

If WMD was the reason we went into Iraq and the intelligence was flawed, can we trust what they're now telling us about Iran?

Protecting America is not a weak minded idea!!! There has been no case in which diplomacy has worked!!! Just imagine if Lincolin used diplomacy!!! Would slavery still be legal!! How about Hitler!!!

I'm not sure i could hit myself in the head enough times with a bat to be handicapped enough to answer that from a Bush administration perspective... but true strength lies in self control and being able to sit back and think things threw to a LOGICAL conclusion that benefits more people, rather than turning instantly to violence because it is convenient at the time....and as for those referring to the past... other means were tried, and time was taken to think things out.. war was not the first option, but the last.

your question is general and vague so I cant really answer it.Every situ is different.I do think diplomacy is always worth the time.In the current Iraq situ we have 3000 US dead and 300,000 to 600,000 dead Iraqis.No end in site and things are worse than before .This is a military induced loss
