Okay so I'm only 21 weeks tomorrow, but I was curious. How early did everyone pack their bags for the hospital and get together a list of contacts? Obviously I'm not going to pack my bag tonight, but I was just curious. One of my friends went into labor and had her little boy at 25 weeks. So I guess it's better to be prepared then not be prepared at all because you never know when your little one will come.

I am a procrastinator by nature. I have 5 kids and the 3rd one I never did pack. I thought I had time and things happened where I had to rush off to the hospital. The last two (twins) I made sure I packed.

You could go get some mini sized toiletries and some new slippers to put in your bag now. And FYI Burts Bee's lip balm rocks during labor! Don't over pack. I would only bring one set of pjs for AFTER baby is born and I wouldn't bring a new pair (you will be messy and ruin them), a robe, a hairbrush, makeup, the stuff you want there for baby, some pads (you can't wear tampons), socks for yourself, snacks for your labor partner, cards, and some magazines.

That will get you started, but I wouldn't bring a bunch of stuff, just the basics and things that will make you feel comfy.

there is not always MORE THEN ENOUGH TIME TO PACK~ All 3 of my kids will be indused. with my 1st i went to a regular appoitment had low water was not allowed to leave the hospital he was born at 36 weeks i was not ready my mom had to go home and pack for me. My 2ed was born at 37 weeks i had my bag packed and ready by 35 weeks. This baby is being induced tommorw i'll be 37 weeks 1 day i have had my bag packed at 34 weeks. most doctors and nurses suggest to be packed by 36 weeks.

I don't really see any reason in packing bags at all. You're not going to immediately have the baby once you start contractions, or your water breaks. There is more than enough time to grab a bag and stuff it with comfy clothes, make-up if you want it, and whatever else like your toothbrush and comb. I would however make a list of what you want to pack, and keep it in a handy spot. As for contacts, I don't know about that. Like your doctors and family? I guess if you want it. Make it the same time as your list.

i am going on 37 weeks pg. and i just got my bags packed and put in the car this last week-end, and i also stored all my familys #s in r cell phone, it should of been done along time ago but i just kept putting it off. u r right it is better to be pre-pared and ready for anything, so even though i waited along time i would suggest that u get it done now while u still can.

With both of my children I packed my bag right before I went to the hospital.

My best advice is to pack when ever you have time or energy you don't want to wait and then not have enough time to do it later. Good luck! and Congrats

I thought that was a good question - I'm only a little over half way myself and don't want to be caught off guard.
