I've meant some humans that were animals. However, I believe humans are on top of the food chain.

Obviously this depends on your definition of animal. Scientifically, animals are basically defined as anything that has some type of nervous system. As humans have a nervous system, albiet advanced, we would therefore be animals by this definition. However, not to beg the question, I think what's really important is if humans not being animals would have any different implications than if we were, I think not.

From a biological standpoint, humans are animals. They may be the most intelligent, most highly specialized animals, but they are animals (as opposed to plants, single-celled organisms, or minerals.)

From a philosophical standpoint, I know a lot of people who would say that humans are at a higher level than animals. Frankly, I think it depends on the human and depends on the animal! :-)

Quite so, just compare a lot of the parts on our bodies with pictures and information in anthropology books, Ex. behind the ears are reminisces of gills that once were used as breathing apparatus like fish, and behind the shoulder we have the reminisces of what were once wings, the lower part of our backs were once a tail now merely a tail bone, both female and male have this, and of course let us not omit the most lucid proof of all, our instincts and emotions, if that isn't proof enough especially in this day and age, i don't know what the hell is . . .

Yes, humans are animals that have evolved their minds. Like fish evolved to survive at sea, or birds evolved to survive by flying, humans evolved to survive by thinking. To say that humans are above other animals is wrong, each animal has its own strength and weakness. Our strength is our rational mind, but this strength of ours is where we find our weakness, because with a rational mind comes choice, and bad choice is what will bring down our species.

I think scientifically we are considered animals but we are more then that. We are created in God's image so we are far above the animals. We have dominion over them and must keep this in mind.
However, I do have a teenager who proves some theory to evolution. I mean he was once a rug rat, now he is a house ape and hopefully will evolve into someone I can show the world without blaming his dad! Just kidding,I have a great kid!

we are classified under the kingdom animalia, so yes we are considered to be animals. however, unlike any other animal or creature God gave us the ability to reason, and make our own decisions about the world. Because we were allowed this privilege, we will be judged in the after-life.

ok.....

1. humans are animals

2. alot of people are right about us being animals.

3. we're mammals! HomoSapiens; we are called mammal because we bear breast milk, we have back bones, and we have hair. -including a brain.

4. Humans are the top priority of this world, so in a sense since we're smart we establish what are considered humans, but if you think about it a little bit, we are all savages that must eat breathe, survive or die. bute eventually we'll stop running from death, and let it capture us. wether we like it or not...

By our own definitions, biological and supported with genetics, humans are animals. Any opinions after that are just part of a superiority complex.
