Biggest issue with replay in football is that football is a free flowing sport not stop and go like - rugby or American football. Also most sports do not use replay to review fouls etc only out of bounds, fumbles etc.

Even in cases where a replay would seem like it would work like offsides you still have the problems of:

1. Proper angle of camera.
2. Stopping play to review the call which unless the ball goes out of bounds or in the goal could dramatically change the the flow of the game.
3. Offside is still a judgment call in terms of if the player was involved in the play or not.

In football the only technology I could see at this time is something to determine if the ball went in the goal or not which they are working on.

The 2 areas where intl football needs to use replay is for goals and diving! For goals the techonology is there so that you don't need replay. Chips can be placed in the ball and the post so as to determine whether it was in fact a goal. FIFA needs to put replays in place at the world cup. I'm sick of watching Portugal, Italy and Mexico cheat their way through. I love the sport but these guys make football players look like little p&&$ies when they flop and dive. And watching ANY Serie A or Mexican league game is like watching a bad soap opera....an hour of bad acting!

well fifa's believe (not mine) is that the ref should judge on what he see's and what he sees only. Rugby Union does it. I think if the technology is there, it should be used
