Our Earth is being torn to hell by war, pollution, over-population and so forth, and people try to make a big deal about possible ice on Mars! Meanwhile the ice here is melting. We have plenty of water here, why can't we invest the money to make this planet better, than plan bases on the moon and mars, two places completely uninhabitable!!!!
Such is human nature, "we've screwed this good thing up, time to start over!"
A bunch of BS.

human thinks that he is the owner of the earth. Now we think we can own the rest of the universe ,too.Animals and plants lived here way before us and now look who's calling the shots! We have already disturbed the balance of nature,I hope we don't go further into space.I personally admire space research as long as it helps us understand how little we are and how great the universe is.As long as it helps us appreciate what we have more and stop taking it for granted.

I care about mars.

Maybe by exploring the realm of another planet - we might start to think about each other as humans undivided - as earthlings - rather then chopping our world up by class, culture, language and religion.....we would be one.

That would be a good thing.
