Question

What osmotic problems does an algal, bacterial or protozoal cell face in a sea water environment?

What osmotic problems does a salmon face in freshwater? Then in the ocean? And then again as an adult returning to fresh water?

Hint:
All of these organisms face the same type of problem- the solute concentration of the organism's tissues can be higher, lower, or the same as the solute concentration in the environment. So, if the concentrations are not equal, they will have to either try to keep water from leaving their tissues, or keep water from entering their tissues.
