My favorite spot is in the woods behind my grandparent house in lewis county. It was so green and the ground so soft. You could hear a stream trickling water not too far away. The wooporwills will sometimes sing their lonesome song and every once in a while you can here the howl of a distant wolf. It is so peaceful, and beautiful. I love it. Wish I was there now. Thanks, that helped ease my mind a little of all the worry I have.

It's at the base of a hill and surrounded by trees - maple, oak, ash, birch, hickory, willow, fir - and has trilliums, mushrooms, grapevines, ivy, poison ivy (I avoid this), lilac bushes, and other flowering plants scattered in it, and has a stream running through it at one side with a log next to it. It smells like earth, wood, water, and, when the breeze is just right at the right time of year, the honeysuckle that grows just over the hill. There are usually some deer there, a whole lot of squirrels and chipmunks and sparrows and a couple of red-tailed hawks, some honeybees, hummingbirds, nightengales, morning doves, dragonflies, butterflies, and other bugs hanging out there. Whenever I go there, it feels like coming home.

I favorite place in the woods was back in British Columbia on Vancouver Island. The place was called Seals Bay. They had beautiful trails going down towards the ocean with many humongous trees with moss growing all around them, & wild plants, it reminded me of the rain forest. But all you would hear was the waves hitting against the rocks., and the seals barking. Most relaxing & beautiful place I have ever been.

I have 2 acres of wood I live on and over the past 5 yrs I've cut winding paths through there with a fire pit and benches. It's a great place just to sit in peace and quiet. I have deer, chipmunks, racoons, groundhogs and lots of squirrels to keep me company.

there is a brook that runs between 2 small hills, birch trees on one side and oaks on the other, when you sit quietly the only constant sound is the water running over the rocks in that creek bed, the deer come to drink and there are grouse, rabbits & squirrels too.

My favorite spot was a clearing in the birch trees in the woods. There was a small cabin & it was far away from the hustle & bustle of the rest of the world. It was like heaven on earth & I loved to hie off and get away from it all.

Woods behind my house. There was a big fir tree with a cool climbing branch. We made a "club house", really it was just the spot where the towel was. Fun times.

my favorite spot in the woods overlooks the river, you can't hear any traffic and it smells like damp earth. There are huge trees all around and just the occasional sunbeam peaking through.

When I lived in NC I used to go hiking all the time and the area close to Turtleback Falls had to be my favorite woodsy area.
