Hi

Can anyone recommend a nice cheap hotel or bed and breakfast close to the city for this weekend?

Also, can you travel from JFK to the City by Metro?
How long is it and what time does it stop?

Many Thanks

What is your definition of cheap? The following site will help: http://www.woogo.com/accommodation/results/udsutcd5a2mr8t8k9v1kk0ulc1/page1.html
If you don't mind sharing a bathroom, and not looking for lavish amenities, try this site for the hostels http://www.hostels.com/en/us.ny.ny.html
Another popular alternative to the pricing of hotel in NYC, staying in Northern NJ-cheaper and can take a bus into the city.

If you have a lot of bags, or is really heavy or cumbersome, best to take a taxi to the city, b/c you have to transfer trains.

what is your definition of cheap? Hotels in the jfk area are generally $120 and up but the neighbourhood is not very nice. if brand new is what you like try the Doubletree. You can take a hotel shuttle to the airport and take the Airtrain to Jamaica or HOward Beach subway station. This takes 15mins or more, then from there the subway into Manhattan, say midtown, can take close to an hour.

Union Square Inn is in a bustling area, where you can get the "real flavor" of Manhattan. There is a Starbucks, a Barnes&Noble and a Staples in the area.
