I've used Phys. Form. and liked it ... decent coverage and less irritating, my skin is on oily side w/ large pores and liquids have caused breakouts no matter how much I wash & use astringents to clean. I've given up liquid foundations. I've been curious about Bare Min. but none of my friends have used it, and that's who I'd trust most. Maybe someone knows of a shop out there where you can try it?

I have tried Physicians Formula and while this is not too bad, I definitely think Bare Minerals is better. Remember: this is your face, the first thing most people notice... your face deserves the best and nothing less...
On the other hand, there is a small possibility that you may be allergic to Bare Minerals and you wouldn't want to spend a ton of money on something you can't use again. I suggest you go to Sephora and ask that they give you a small sample of the product for you to test at home. Usually they have no problem doing that and that way you would no for sure.
Good Luck!

i used Bare Minerals for 3 years and just recently switched to Smashbox Seamless Foundation because I didn't feel like I was getting good coverage from the Bare Minerals like i used to. I don't know if they redid their formula or what but it seems different to me. I love the Smashbox! As for MIneral makeup seems everyone has one now. Even Avon. Bare minerals was the first one out there so that might say something. I have never used the others but I did love my minerals until about 2 months ago when I switched. Get some Samples on ebay and try it before you invest!

I haven't tried Physicians Formula, but I use Bare Minerals as well as L'Oreal's, Sephora's and Avon's version of it.
Bare Minerals is still the best. Better quality ingredients, IMO. The store brands have fillers and other ingredients that bring the cost down.
But I know about money crunching and I now tend to mix a little of each to get a more even color for my skin tone and to stretch my dollar!
Bare Mineral's Mineral Veil is the best powder on the market, none of the other ones compare. Buy on eBay or other sources for a discounted price.

I am so glad to hear I am not the only one who had disappointing results with Bare Minerals! I'd love the lightweight coverage and the Bare Minerals smelled good, but my face looked icky. Maybe I used it wrong, I don't know. I just need more coverage, preferably something that lasts long and does not "melt" on me through the day so I use Revlon ColorStay. It's heavier but the end results are worth it if you need good coverage!
Good luck with that Physician's Formula one though, hope it works for you!

I can tell you. They are both private productions from the same
person. That team of employees makes the products with
the best that studies can do. Makeup has only a 10% variance
in supply freshness and consistency. Bare essencuals,
there are different spellings that signify the team coordinator.
The recipe inspection is for specific skin and you should match
that through the info. Off hand, physicians for oilier, average
busy people, bare minerals for lite complexion with regular
makeup uses, and essencuals , essentials, for drier skins.
Though try some to see. Times of the day and close test is
more accurate. Have a nice holiday.

well, i bought bare minerals when they first came out, and were so expensive and I absolutely hated that stuff! I still have the whole set and every once in a while try it again, but still no good:/
I would recommend trying the physicians formula mineral face powder first before you go spending all that money on bare minerals!
good luck!

I used the physician's formula line for awhile and it was ok. Its not as flawless as Bare Minerals though. If it were me I'd save the $10 and put it towards the $60 starter kit. Just pick your skintone range for the kit and its comes with two foundation colors (among other things). You can mix them or use the darker (summertime) or lighter (wintertime) alone whenever appropriate. It comes with a how-to cd inside too which was amazingly helpful. Best thing I bought myself this year! I've just started slowly purchasing more products. The eyeliner is great too! Best thing is less is more with this stuff so they last for ever! Check this out:

Have fun!

I've used both, Physicians Formula didn't cover as well and smelt kind of funny. And as long as you moisturize daily bare minerals won't mess with your skin, I don't know why people keep saying that.
