Where do you get that from, my guess is that you get fustrated with brits calling you fat and bringing up the obesity thing, well that is true, like 60% of you are fat, and you make up some bs thing like bad teeth, for a nation? Notice how it's only pathetic americans who say things like that, well you can stay in your fatland where the poor have no freedom and you have a corrupt goverment, but you really are fat as a nation, hmm some what i dont think anybody else in the world agrees with your childish teeth thing, i'm not brit by the way. Britain is a hundred million times better than america anyway, americans just prefer america because a pizza can get to your house faster than an ambulance, LMAO.

HG Y Does have a point there, I've been to both countries, but there is definitely a bit of a fat thing going on in America. Come on, just admit, you're not kidding anyone. America isn't called the "Fat Nation" for no reason.
Oh and I'm English and I have great teeth. Never had dental work or anything! Which is a better track record than most Americans!

I am neither American or British but I am living in the UK for the time being. A long time ago the British were in fact known for having bad teeth. I have also heard this being referred to several times on the BBC by the British.
Fact is that it is not so much that way these days.
I think you Americans and Brits should try and get along. Your leaders sure do.

Kent you would be surprised what people believe, the teeth thing is still believed. Mind you as most Americans never leave America it is not really that surprising. I have known some Americans who have lived in Britain for a period of time and they told me sometimes when they see some of the things that Americans do they are actually embarrassed. Especially by George W. Bush.
Don't get me wrong i like America however I think the majority of Americans don't realise how hated their country is in some quarters.
Read look im so whites answer for a prime example.

For the same reason that non-American countries make the generalization that all Americans are overweight. It's just a stereotype. The British are presumed to have bad teeth as a result of all the tea that they drink.

"americans just prefer america because a pizza can get to your house faster than an ambulance" - not quite true but funny!
That stereotype has always been around, unlike the fat thing, which only recently began.

stereotype all you want. You not showing how good Britain is by making yourself look ignorant. You must think all Americans are 500 pounders who are snobs and hate everyboby else and have an easy life with servants and crap. Stop mudslinging and sterotyping. Oh yeah if you are not a Brit, how do you know Britain is a hundred million times better? You don't so stop being jeleous.

The status quo of English dentistry was accepting to crookedness, yellowness, and other attributes which are considered dirty or imperfect in American culture.
Example: Austin Powers
Things have changed since the '60s, and this is less pronounced, as England and most of the world has signed on to the American viewpoint.

Hello, are you addressing the entire United States with your statement? Personally, I've never even THOUGHT about whether 'Brits' or any other country has bad teeth or not - I've got my own life to live!
Lighten up and have a Merry Christmas!

I don't see where the bad teeth thing comes from either, but I've only ever seen it portrayed in the simpsons or family guy so I don't take it seriously!
Britain is far from perfect so don't kid yourself! As a brit I can see the flaws in our society.
Each to his own!

I'm a Brit and I see lots of pretty minging teeth on a daily basis. I also see lots of fatties... as for Americans, well I don't see many at all, but the ones I have met have all had glittering straight smiles.
British dentistry may be better on the whole, but its also damned expensive and a lot of people just don't bother.
Still, yes Britain is better than the US.. for now at least.
