michael richards gets the book thrown at him for a racist joke, meanwhile black people call each other n igga every chance they get. Btw n igger means thief, not a lowlife black person. Every race has faced hardships in history including slavery and abuse, some even more so than African Americans. I think its about time they take responsibibility for their actions, and stop blaming the system. The way i see it there's white people and trailer trsash, hispanics and spics, blacks and n iggers. Im not racist at all. Its just that a respectable person of one ethnicity will be labeled accordingly. If hes middle class and goes to work every day and supports his family then hes a white male. If hes in and out of prison then hes white trash. The same applies for every other race. Who agrees with me?

I agree with you that there isn't a double standard and i feel if only one race or ethnicity of people can use a word then the word shouldn't be used at all; black ppl use the word n****r all the time towards each other which is no better than any other race saying it, if you don't want your culture to be disrespected by others start respecting it yourself, i also agree that some African Americans like to play the race card alot and its normally the ones who go back and forth calling there brothers, and friends or "brothas" the n-word, which makes no since because it seems to anyone else passing by that you as a culture don't think very highly of yourselves to begin with so why should we, and your also right on the whole white and trailer trash etc.but i don't really agree that there has been a race who has suffered more; maybe the Greeks slaves but I'm not sure, over all i agree with you we as a culture need to do something to promote ourselves in a good light, and though i do believe that what he said was a little over the top and that he shouldn't have brought up such licentious acts from the past, that might make ppl uncomfortable, but he wouldn't have gotten to use the word n****r if we didn't use it so much ourselves.

There always has been and always will be a double standard. Everyone knows that only whites can be racist. And about the Kramer thing, there are many blacks that are trying to get everyone (especially blacks) to stop using the word. And the "N" word up until a few years ago by dictionary definition was "A rude person". No mention of color there until recently.

I agree that we need to stop labeling people, but there will be labels as long as people use them in derogatory ways. If the comments are used between friends then that's their business, but if used in anger and hatred then there's cause for a reaction. Again, we shouldn't have labels at all. Labels lead to putting people in groups, aka division which will never lead to our sole purpose and that is unity.

I don't really agree, you sound like one of those kind of fence riding racists to me. No offence but what you said about Richards and the N word is just really kind of insensitive to how and why other people may feel differently about it.

There is a double standard, its just that some minority groups want their 'double standard' to only be used by them.

noooo.... you're not racist at all! ;)

why not say, "there's good people and bad people." by using traditionally derogatory terms, you're not convincing anyone you aren't a racist.
