While it could be any of your components that cause this problem most likely it is the power supply.

What type computer do you have. If it is an e-machine then it is most likely one of two things. Power supply or the button used to turn it on with.

The Internet is full of blogs on the e-machine and talk about this very thing. Your only real option is take to a repair shop or buy another one.

Try this...there might be a static charge in your system. Unplug the power cord and then hold in the power button for 25 seconds. This drains all the power within the system. Then plug the power cord back in and try to turn the system on. I hope this works.

Make sure everything is plugged and if you have a surge protector, that it is turned on as well (and plugged in).

Did anything happen the last time you had it on?

It could be a number of issus. The power supply has gone bad, the processor has gone bad, etc. I would suggest taking it to a repair shop for them to take a look at it.

its happened to me before,
could be any new hardware you installed, it could be poorly wired, or incorrectly.
best thing to do is, open up the computer and see what happens when you press the power button.

if this doesnt help, take it to best buy its 80$ for a diagnosis.
