Almost all of your body's structural (cells are build with protein cytoskeletons, extracellular matrix is made with proteins) and functional units (hormones, digestive enzymes, muscle cells, neuron skeletons) are PROTEINS . Just about every reaction in your body is catalyzed by enzymes, which are proteins. So in essence, proteins are just about everything. Your immune system is built on protein function (receptors, cytokines, complement proteins).
Carbohydrates primarily provide an energy storage form.
Lipids are primarily an energy storage system, and provide selective permeability for your cells (plasma membranes). Lipids are also involved in some signaling pathways, and steroid synthesis, and bile.
There are exceptions to these general rules of thumb. But in general, DNA templates lead to protein synthesis, which controls the fates of the other 2 groups. This is just a basic blue print of how your body works on the molecular level.

customary shape is the amino acid sequence. Secondary shape shows how the segments of the protein are folding, ie helices, beta sheets, random coils, etc. Tertiary shape shows how the secondary shape interior of a protein interacts, it dictates the prevalent 3-d shape of a given protein sequence. Quaternary shape tells you the way distinctive person protein sequences work together, ie alpha and beta subunits of a protein.

the proteins are the final result of the expresion of your genome. your genome produces proteins to can give you life, your hair, your bones, your color and other things are proteins that before where genes. the genes codify for your characteristics, and express it creating proteins, that is how your genes get expressed.
